It’s the middle of May, and the sun is blazing through the windows here at the UltimateTowbars HQ. We’re hoping it will stay that way for a little longer.
It’s certainly been a busy month for our tow bar fitting team. In addition to fitting many tow bars around the area, we’ve also visited our remotest tow bar fitting location yet.
Alport Castles Farm is located just below the Alport Castles rock outcrop, deep in the High Peak area of Derbyshire.
Access is gained by following a small farm track that starts high on the Snake Pass road. Turning off the Snake Pass and travelling over a mile along the rough and isolated road, you eventually get to Alport Castles Farm. No mean feat when you’re in a large van full of tools and towbars.
The scenery was stunning, mainly due to the sun blazing, I’m pretty sure the fitting team would not have been so happy if the weather had been wet.
A stunning location for a towbar fitting, I am sure you will agree.

Stunning car of the month so far is an RS Q8 we fitted at John Hollnad Car Sales https://www.johnhollandsales.co.uk/
Fitted with a detachable tow bar and approved dedicated electrics, plus the latest software update, the vehicle certainly looked the part, and it shouldn’t have an issue towing the owner’s caravan.

Something a little different… A Jeep Avenger fitted with a detachable towbar with approved electrics and coding from the Jeep dealership. The Jeep dealerships couldn’t get a tow bar, so they called us and we imported one from one of our overseas suppliers.

Peak season for tow bar fitting is fast approaching, and this year is turning out to be the busiest yet for people buying tow bars.
We can’t emphasise the importance enough, this year especially…
If you need a tow bar this summer, then book a fitting now! We really do have calls from people wanting a towbar fitting the same week as they plan to go on their holiday. Don’t leave it until later, as later will in most cases be too late.
Safe Towing.
Apart from making sure you adhere to towing laws, speed limits, tow weight limits and vehicle maintenance, make sure you have the correct tow bar electrics for your vehicle.
Many vehicles have ADAS…
Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS) refers to active and passive safety systems aiming at preventing or minimising car accidents on the road, mainly caused by human error.
If your vehicle has ADAS, then it’s essential you have vehicle-specific electrics fitted.
Failing to do so can make towing dangerous and could invalidate your insurance in the event of a claim.
Be safe and only have approved towing electrics fitted.
More news will be added at regular intervals so please keep visiting and keep safe.
