If you’re buying a new vehicle and need to tow, or even need a tow bar for a cycle carrier, check with your local tow bar company to make sure a tow bar is available before signing the sales agreement to buy the car.
You also need to check that approved vehicle-specific tow bar wiring is available for the vehicle, as fitting universal bypass electrics will invalidate any vehicle warranty and can wreck the car’s complex electrical system.
With new vehicles, it’s essential that you only have approved parts fitted that have been designed and tested to be compatible.
